Make time to chat with one or two of the key people in your life. Talk about those arguments that you keep on having – and see if you can come to some sort of agreement. Then dive into the fun stuff – what do you want your life to look like in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years? How can I support you in getting there? What changes can we make? Are you making clear boundaries for those in your life? If not, why not? Are you communicating them clearly? Make some time to dig into the deep and meaningful conversations that we often don’t make time for in our regular lives.

If you start on the first of the month, try the minimalists challenge – one item on the first, two on the second, three on the third. A good guide is to gather all the items into one room – all your books, all your shoes. Really face them and then try the Kon-Mari approach – does this bring me joy? If not, jettison it…

Do you find yourself in negative thought patterns? Do you say stuff to yourself that you wouldn’t say to a friend? Try a few things out:
- Meditate (it teaches you to let go)
- Journal (studies show it reduces PTSD and stress before exams)
- Create a new belief – your decisions are beliefs! (I am lovable, I am capable of a 6-figure business, I am beautiful at whatever number the scales say).

Cut out everything except plants and a few fruits for at least 5 days, up to 3 weeks. No caffeine, alcohol, sugar, grains, legumes, animal products etc.
Green smoothie for breakfast (kale, ginger, lemon, apple, coconut water)
Lunch and dinner – veg soups and salads.

The Fall, like the Spring, is a great time of year to cleanse – making time to shift the ama (the toxic build up) by cleansing your body. Taking some time to work with your mind, your home and your relationships. Ayurveda (literally the science of life) is holistic, so when we cleanse we do it ALL!

Delete all the apps. Just kidding. But maybe not. This is fully overwhelming and seems to be much more overwhelming for women, compared to men. So, treat yourself well, be kind to yourself. Don’t feel you have to reply to every message, or meet everyone. This is supposed to be fun, after all!

When you have a date, tell someone where you are meeting and give them any info you have, e.g. phone number etc. Say – “hey – I am meeting John at Bar X at 7 pm tonight, please can you text me and check in at 9 pm? Thanks.” Give yourself a little extra protection!
Reflect on whether you are ready because you will need to be resilient! You will get d**k pics, you will get vile messages, you will get stood up, canceled on, ignored, ghosted. You will have people message you with insane requests or ones that you find offensive. People will say crazy stuff to you. Are you ready to wade through this? So, my 8th habit is: really think about whether you are ready and willing to do this and create some rules and boundaries around how you want to do this.
