Kaizen means continuous improvement. Make small and regular changes to see big shifts.
How you start your day, lays the foundation for the rest of the day! Don’t start with the outside world and external stimulation. Put down your iPhone and don’t start with what’s going on out there. Start with YOU, what’s going on inside.
1) Hydrate – 1-3 pints of warm water with lemon if possible. Gets the digestive tract moving, flushes it out and wakes it up for the rest of the day.
2) Meditate – Work with your mind, get to know yourself! Sit quietly, hands on lap, legs crossed or on the floor and let the mind settle on the breath. As you think of things (which you will do – our minds are busy and fun and sometimes dark), just gently let the thoughts go and come back to the breath.
3) Move – Get the blood flowing again! You have been still and not moving much for 6, 7, 8 hours – it’s time to coordinate breath and body. Do what feels right for you. Start from where you’re at!
