Cut out all that shit that you’ve been enjoying! And DEPRIVE YOURSELF. Just kidding. This is really about cleaning yourself out, so you can learn how to truly nourish yourself.

In the winter, we tend to eat heavier, warmer foods, to keep us warm and earthy. We may also over-indulge in sweet treats or lots of mugs of hot sweet tea over thanksgiving and Christmas and if you have kids, you have probably just finished navigating the Easter celebrations (which, let’s face it, for quite a few kids is more about the candy & the Easter bunny, than Jesus rising).

When you start to pay attention to the shifts in seasons, you may notice that you feel the need to make a shift, a cleanse, to create a change in your life and get you ready for the warmer weather. You may feel that need to detox your home – your clothes, your cupboards or your relationships, as well as your physical/mental body.

In Ayurveda, we do cleanses at the two major seasonal shifts (fall – when we shift from the Summer to the Winter, in the Northern Hemisphere, and when we shift from Winter to Spring) and if we have a lot of ama (toxins) which are negatively impacting our health.

How do you do it? There are 4 parts to my cleanses – Body, Mind, Home & Relationships.

Start with the BODY.
