I am a neuroscientist who studies and guides habits in teams, systems and relationships. I help people & their teams connect their daily habits to their Big Juicy Why—so they can lead their personal and professional lives with clarity, regulate their nervous systems, and build lives and businesses rooted in purpose, pleasure, impact and powerful connection.
Through a mix of mindset science, habit design, and conscious leadership, I guide people to like themselves more, trust themselves deeper, and take bold, aligned action—at work, at home, and in community.

Tamsin was the Emcee for our plenary sessions at the Midwest Coaches Conference in September 2026.
As the chair of the committee that put on the event, I had the great pleasure to work with her in the months leading up to the event and the joy of interacting with her for a few days onsite.
She brought amazing creativity to the process.
She is great at ideation and then knows when to move into action. I found this combination to be dynamic for what we were trying to achieve.
It also meant that our meetings were collaborative, fun, and action-oriented.
Tamsin is a consumate professional and I sense simply a wonderful human being. I highly recommend her for any speaking engagement.
I met Tamsin in 2019 & I’ve been fortunate to have her as my executive coach for many years. She has also worked with my team to run strategic planning events, through the lens of Clifton Strengths, given a keynote at one of our conferences.
What keeps me coming back is that she coaches the whole person, not just the job title. I came to her running on leftover energy — saying yes to everything while carrying a CEO role, teaching, my own business, and volunteer leadership all at once — and she helped me get honest about what that was actually costing me.
She never handed me a generic productivity system: she helped me build habits that fit my real life, like pausing before I commit to anything.
What sets Tamsin apart is that her coaching sticks. She’s warm and she listens closely, but she’ll also gently call you on the story you’re telling yourself.
PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH
“In my work life I always have a problem-solving approach. I wasn’t doing that in my home life. That approach—looking at what’s working and what’s not working-has created a big shift that’s made ALL the difference.
I’ve changed the structures around it. Made new habits. I have learned to get our of the ruts. Questioning the assumptions of the habit, is that thinking useful? Just because I’ve been doing something for fifteen years doesn’t mean it’s intractable!”
Tamsin recently wrote and presented a fantastic conference session for our neuroscience-informed global community of mBraining coaches. Her presentation was on ‘Pause-Notice-Choose’ and it inspired and promoted us in so many ways. How Tamsin manages to be funny, informative, pragmatic all at the same time is a particularly valuable skill and everyone is still buzzing from her session. We hope she will be open to speaking again, as communicating science in a clear and compelling way is essential to helping us continue our learning. I recommend Dr Astor’s talks in the highest possible terms – she is a superstar!

Crappy Beliefs, Crappy Life
Did you know that your beliefs are decisions? So, if you make crappy decisions about your life, you will believe crappy things and that will impact your life and how happy and productive it is.
Fall Cleanse 4: Your Relationships
Make time to chat with one or two of the key people in your life. Talk about those arguments that you keep on having – and see if you can come to some sort of agreement.
Fall Cleanse 3: Your Home
If you start on the first of the month, try the minimalists challenge – one item on the first, two on the second, three on the third.
Fall Cleanse 2: Your Mind
Do you find yourself in negative thought patterns? Do you say stuff to yourself that you wouldn’t say to a friend? Try a few things out…
Fall Cleanse 1: Your Body
Cut out everything except plants and a few fruits for at least 5 days, up to 3 weeks. No caffeine, alcohol, sugar, grains, legumes, animal products etc.
It’s Cleanse Time!!
The Fall, like the Spring, is a great time of year to cleanse – making time to shift the ama (the toxic build up) by cleansing your body.
