TRANSFORM CHAOS INTO CLARITY
LEAD FROM PURPOSE, BUILD A POWERFUL TEAM, AND CREATE A LEGACY YOU’RE PROUD TO LEAVE BEHIND.
HOW YOU SHOW UP
IS THE CULTURE.
Habits are the invisible structure underneath it. I help leaders build them with neuroscience, presence, and a lot of heart, so their culture holds when the world won’t stop shifting.
Habits are the culture. Presence is how it gets built.
Your daily habits are the architecture of your culture.
The invisible structure that holds a culture together is habit.
People deserve leadership that is fully expressed, deeply human, and radically alive.
THE MISSION
I am a neuroscientist who studies and guides habits in teams, systems and relationships. I help people & their teams connect their daily habits to their Big Juicy Why—so they can lead their personal and professional lives with clarity, regulate their nervous systems, and build lives and businesses rooted in purpose, pleasure, impact and powerful connection.
Through a mix of mindset science, habit design, and conscious leadership, I guide people to like themselves more, trust themselves deeper, and take bold, aligned action—at work, at home, and in community.

EDGE:
STORIES FROM THE GROUND
Tamsin was the Emcee for our plenary sessions at the Midwest Coaches Conference in September 2026.
As the chair of the committee that put on the event, I had the great pleasure to work with her in the months leading up to the event and the joy of interacting with her for a few days onsite.
She brought amazing creativity to the process.
She is great at ideation and then knows when to move into action. I found this combination to be dynamic for what we were trying to achieve.
It also meant that our meetings were collaborative, fun, and action-oriented.
Tamsin is a consumate professional and I sense simply a wonderful human being. I highly recommend her for any speaking engagement.
I met Tamsin in 2019 & I’ve been fortunate to have her as my executive coach for many years. She has also worked with my team to run strategic planning events, through the lens of Clifton Strengths, given a keynote at one of our conferences.
What keeps me coming back is that she coaches the whole person, not just the job title. I came to her running on leftover energy — saying yes to everything while carrying a CEO role, teaching, my own business, and volunteer leadership all at once — and she helped me get honest about what that was actually costing me.
She never handed me a generic productivity system: she helped me build habits that fit my real life, like pausing before I commit to anything.
What sets Tamsin apart is that her coaching sticks. She’s warm and she listens closely, but she’ll also gently call you on the story you’re telling yourself.
PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH
“In my work life I always have a problem-solving approach. I wasn’t doing that in my home life. That approach—looking at what’s working and what’s not working-has created a big shift that’s made ALL the difference.
I’ve changed the structures around it. Made new habits. I have learned to get our of the ruts. Questioning the assumptions of the habit, is that thinking useful? Just because I’ve been doing something for fifteen years doesn’t mean it’s intractable!”
Tamsin recently wrote and presented a fantastic conference session for our neuroscience-informed global community of mBraining coaches. Her presentation was on ‘Pause-Notice-Choose’ and it inspired and promoted us in so many ways. How Tamsin manages to be funny, informative, pragmatic all at the same time is a particularly valuable skill and everyone is still buzzing from her session. We hope she will be open to speaking again, as communicating science in a clear and compelling way is essential to helping us continue our learning. I recommend Dr Astor’s talks in the highest possible terms – she is a superstar!

Habit Shifting – part 1, Replacing The Old Habit
It’s easier to replace a bad habit with a new one, rather than totally getting rid of it. So, perhaps – replace the glass of wine with a walk, to move out that negative energy.
Habit Shifting – part 1, Identifying The Unhealthy Habit
To shift your habit, you need to acknowledge it. This is really key if you want to change it. A great way to do that is to track your actions and see if you can find a pattern, e.g. having a glass of wine when you walk in the door at the end of the night, every time someone is shitty to you at work.
The 2 Components of Habit Shifting
Changing habits requires two main components: the first is the actual change of the habit (adding a new one of tackling the removal of a negative habit), the second is changing of the mindset behind, under or around that habit. You can do them together, or consecutively. But, it won’t work if you don’t address both of these.
Force of Habit
The goal of my book, Force of Habit, is to help you regain your power and reduce your stress by laying out a simple plan to master your key daily habits and your relationship with yourself and others.
Radical Responsibility in Our Bodies too!
“The idea that we are controlled by our genes is false. It’s an idea that turns us into victims. I’m saying that we are the creators of our situation…”
Change Your Habits Change your Life!
When things are getting stressful and we are not feeling on top of the world, we often get into the kind of thinking where we imagine our lives will be better when, if, the external world changes. When we get that job, that new car, that wedding ring on our finger.
Radical Responsibility
This for me is really about ABSOLUTE freedom. Why? It’s all about defining life on my terms because I am acknowledging that the whole world is my creation.
And this is really about setting standards
I do not want toxic masculinity in my life. I do not want victim mentality in my life. I live to surround myself with people who are striving to make…
